There is a depth within each of us that is represented through this image. There is a symbolism of the ocean parting, revealing a woman looking directly at the viewer. Her hands and face are covered with symbolism and iconography. She sets free a butterfly from her inner world as a clue to how she may feel, reminding us that we know who we are, why we are here, and what must be done.
