This image was created in Joshua Tree, California on the eve of the Venus and Earth convergence. The night sky was dark and the exposure was long. The texture at the edge of the image is the illumination of our light painting over the natural elements of rounded rocks and desert shrubs. After scribing the word “Love” into the night sky we created the essence of butterfly wings, reminding the viewer that the greatest metamorphosis in our life comes from loving more.
Material:
• This metal print is created with gold sublimation. First, a paper printed on a dye-sublimation press uses 400 degrees F to transfer the image to metal. This process is repeated eight times. After cooling the ink becomes permanent, scratch-resistant, and weather proof.
